Correspondence, mss. of writings, materials relating to Storrs Agricultural School, memorabilia, business papers, printed materials, condolences, and other papers, relating to Gold's activities with Connecticut State Agricultural Society, Board of Agriculture, Storrs Agricultural School and its successors, Storrs Agricultural and Connecticut Agricultural colleges, Storrs Agricultural Experiment Station, and other state agricultural endeavors; history of Cornwall and membership in various historical societies; and his involvement with the founding of Connecticut Soldiers' Orphan Home, Mansfield, Conn. Also includes correspondence, financial papers, estate papers, and other materials of members of the Gold and Cleveland families including his parents, Dr. Samuel Wadsworth and Phoebe (Cleveland) Gold, son, Charles L. Gold, Hezikiah Gold, son-in-law, Franz Von Puttkamer, and General John Sedgwick; and 19th century local and agricultural newspapers, collected by T.S. Gold, containing articles relating to agriculture, the family, and organizations in which he was interested. Newspapers represented include Connecticut Farmer, Hartford Courant, Litchfield Enquirer, Massachusetts Ploughman, New England Homestead, New York Observer, Sag Harbor Express, Waterbury American, and Winsted Herald.
